This sterling silver retreiver is a perfect example of British craftsmanship at its best. This dog is large in size, being 23cm in height, and the detailing is quite beautiful. He had an intelligent face and the texture of his coat is very well engraved. This silver retriever is clearly hallmarked, showing the makers mark and the stamp of the assay office. He is the perfect gift for any dog lover and would look wonderful in any home.
There are six different breeds of retriever; the Labrador, Golden Retriever, Flat-coated Retriever, Curly coated Retriever, Chesapeake Bay Retriever and the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. They are popular all over the world as working dogs and as wonderful pets. Retrievers, along with Pointers and Flushers are excellent gun dogs. They have a very soft mouth which allows them to pick up and return a carcass without damage to their owner. Retreivers are keen swimmers and or often used when shooting waterfowl. A retriever can quite easily follow the aim of the gun and use it as a guide to track down the prey.
